Early appointment to expedite the project
The Giblin Eunson Library was created to accommodate university faculties who had relocated outside of the main campus. The new facilities ensure both students and staff remain in close proximity to academic resources and dedicated study spaces.
98É«»¨ÌÃ's VIC team was the appointed construction manager during the design phase of the project. The early appointment expedited the fixed-budget project, particularly in regards to the time frame. Our team offered a distinct advantage over competitors with access to our own subcontractors, the ability to provide additional cost options, and having a solid reputation for delivering projects on budget and within programme.
Working to the strict timelines of one of our most prestigious universities
A major project challenge was the unacceptably long delays for the specified ceiling tile system - this would have affected the project delivery timeline. Our team utilised our in-house capabilities to manufacture, supply, and install the metal ceiling tiles to ensure the library would be ready to open for the start of the second semester 2011.
The construction faced strict noise restrictions during the otherwise operational university. Working in a live environment, our team also had to ensure safe access to the commerce student centre on the upper ground floor - the site team installed temporary stairs for student access as well as site hoarding to separate construction from occupied zones.
The library has been extremely popular for students, academics, and staff alike since its opening in 2011.
