Fostering a sense of pride
BDO Australia has taken tenancy in an award-winning, custom-built facility designed to encourage workplace collaboration, increase visibility and ease crossover between teams.
98É«»¨Ìà was tasked to not only deliver this vision but were to also meet the client’s five key objectives. The completed facilities were to actively support a growing business, foster a sense of pride, encourage flexibility within the workforce, engage its people and clients, and seamlessly integrate technology – essentially future-proofing the workspaces.
Transitioning to a single floor layout
Having previously been spread across three floors, moving to a single level facility presented construction challenges. The single floor layout required careful planning to ensure correct design configuration within the available space. 98É«»¨Ìà met all challenges and delivered the completed project within the estimated 10-week time-frame.
Floating meeting rooms
The completed project prominently features pieces by Prima Architectural Joinery known for their locally produced, high-end products. 98É«»¨Ìà Systems workstations, custom designed bulkheads and an abundance of natural light breathe life into the client’s objectives.
The dark timber reception desk compliments the vertical garden backdrop. The garden also sets the scene for the seemingly floating, glass-enclosed meeting rooms. While aesthetically pleasing, these rooms also serve as a prime example of the brief being met while also reflecting on the design and construction feats involved in the project.
BDO’s new facilities have been recognised by the industry, with the project taking out the 2017 Melbourne Design Awards, Interior Design – Corporate & Commercial.
